Reading buddies and pizza pies

We had a wonderful Friday!!  This morning we watched the story "I stink" by Kate and Jim McMullan.  The story is about a garbage truck who picks up garbage starting with all the letters of the alphabet.  We also talked about what senses we use.  When we smell stinky garbage we are definitely using our sense of smell.

We also had a special visit from Ms. Beardsley's grade 4 class, they are our English reading buddies. Each grade 4 student was paired with one or two kinders and read to them.  I even saw a few of our SK students reading to their grade 4 partners :)  Great work.

We also had a great time playing in our dramatic play area.  We have recently turned it into a pizza shop due to so many children talking about pizza!

We decided that we needed to make a menu and an Open / Closed sign.

\

E.S made this menu stating that one slice of pizza is 1.00$ and one piece of pumpkin pie is 4.00$

We were busy making pizza pies today :)

S.O made these signs to show us what we can order.  Pizza and dessert.

We made some yummy pizza's today!!!

Ms.Whitteker also helped us make some chef hats!

We also wrote in our journals today. We wrote about one of our five senses.  We did a great job :)

We also worked very hard with our melting beads again today.  We have a ton of creativity and patience :)

*** We are also sending home some of the children's quiet time blankets.  We are going to be sending them home in a rotation every Friday. We have about 5 children each week bringing their blankets home at a time so that they can be cleaned. We are doing the rotation so that there isn't any confusion or chaos come Monday morning :)   Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday :)
