We used wet chalk to draw on our foam Easter eggs

Squeegee art using shavign cream and paint :)

Since Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Moore's class are currently incubating chick eggs we decided that we would put little eggs and chicks into the bin. We have had many friends talk about the baby chick eggs and we are very excited for when they hatch.

Friends were sorting the various Easter erasers, and also counting them and putting them in the appropriate Easter eggs.

Here A.T is matching the upper and lower case letters!

We were also searching for site words at this fun center and putting a bear marker on the words that they found!

Shapes, Money and Veterinarians Office!

This week we learned more about les formes (shapes). We did a class survey to see which shape was our favorite.

We discovered that square and diamond both had the same amount with 8 each.

We were making shapes using Popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners

We enjoyed investigating various shapes at the water table. We discovered that some shapes would float and sink, and some were smaller and larger than others.

We were also noticing shapes in our block area!

R.K, B.M and M.H were looking at the blocks and were deciding whether they were a flower or star shape. M.H was drawing a plan of what they were going to create with the blocks.

We had some friends make books this week :) We also had many children use our chalk board to practice writing their french words.

We love to see all the writing that is going on in our classroom!

A.T wrote her alphabet on the mini chalk boards.

It's starting to look a bit more like Spring outside :)

R.T is writing in her plant journal.  The children can keep and up to date log on the growth of their grass buddy :)

We continued to talk about the value of our Canadian money this week. Children were graphing and matching the various types of money (penny, nickle, dime, quarter, loonie and twoonie). We also had a center where friends could shine pennies with salt and vinegar.

It was also Jersey day on Friday to help raise Money for CHEO :)

This week we finally decided on our new classroom inquiry.  Many of the children have been showing an interest in animals and taking care of animals.  We are going to change our dramatic play area into a veterinarians office!  We look forward to seeing what we will create in the upcoming weeks!!!

We hope everyone had a great weekend.
See you on Monday :)
