Happy Earth Week!!!

We hope that everyone had a great Easter weekend  :)

Tuesday was Earth Day!  We spent the entire day with the lights out to help conserve energy.  We also did a great job to wear blue and green to represent water and plant life.

We have also been talking about recycling and how to recycle the items we bring in our lunch everyday.

We also talked about how we can recycle items to make new things.

On Wednesday we dressed in white to represent air  :)

D.R (SK) is reusing his yogurt container to make a space ship!

We also did some great writing and picture drawing this week :)

S.O was labeling various items on her picture.  She also wrote " I have lots of patterning in my picture".

R.D drew all the characters of Lego Ninjago

C.S drew Iron man and Batman  :)

R.D started writing rhyming words!  Great work.

S.B and C.C playing in our sensory bin.  Some of our students had the chance to go next door to Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Moore's classroom to visit the chick eggs in the incubator.  The baby chicks should be hatching within the next week!

M.R made a 3D shape :)

On Thursday we had the Junkyard Symphony come to our school and perform for us. They showed us how we can reuse many materials to make music.  We also wore brown on Thursday to represent earth.

In this picture our very own H.M was chosen to be the cheerleader and hold up a box of Cheer.  Every time she held  up the box we all had to cheer  :)   She did a great job!!

On Friday we had a special presentation to from John Smith from Connecting Countries to thank us for participating in the Potty Dance and raising money for the Chaka-reli school in Kenya.   We also had a visit from Jason Pottinger who plays for the Ottawa Redblacks football team and he also brought along Big Joe their Mascot.  They came to our classroom also where we had a chance to say hello :)  We also wore red, yellow and orange to represent energy!!

*** Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far to our classroom gift basket for the school fundraiser :)  Just a reminder that our theme basket is "Home Spa".

We hope you have had a great weekend!
See you on Monday  :)
