Our Classroom

Welcome to our Kindergarten Classroom. Here are some pictures of our classroom / centers. The layout follows the new full day play based learning philosophy which is also heavy based on the Reggio Emellio philosophy. 

This is what our carpet area looks like first thing in the morning.  Each child has their own mat to sit on while we have our morning circle time. 

This is our Family Tree.  Please feel free to bring in a family portrait so we can add it to ours! 

This is our library area where the children can sit on the couch or on the carpet and read some of their favorite books :)

This is our safe place where the children can come and relax if they are feeling sad or just need a few minutes to cool down. 

This is our class portfolio wall.  Each child has their own star and each month the children will draw a picture with a word / sentence and we display it proudly in our classroom :)

If you have not brought in a yoga mat for quiet time it is not too late.  We have the children roll up their mats and we store them in our sleep mat bin.  

This is our Gallerie D'art (art gallery). We love displaying the students art. 

This is our Discovery wall / center   If we have any inquiries or discoveries we display it here. We brought in some gourds, corn, and leaves to have a look at.  If you wish to bring in anything that your child shows an interest in "leaves, birds nest, etc" please feel free to bring them in and we can add it to our discovery table :)

Here is our writing center.  We also made our very own Alphabet for the wall. 

This is our number wall from 1- 10.  We did a great job finding the correct number of items to use for each number.
