We had a great Tuesday with Ms. Mallmo! We read the book "The Line" by Paula Bossio. It is a very interesting book because it has no words. We made predictions to see what might be at the end of the line in the book.
Here are some of our predictions...
Her house - E.S
A robot - Duncan R (SK)
A T-Rex - Colton
A block man - C.C
The author - A.B
We also talked about all the different kinds of lines and what we could use them to represent.
* Straight lines
- To make roads, walls, houses
* Squiggly lines.
- To make fingers, thumbs, sand castles, ocean waves
* Loopy lines
- To make dinosaurs, e's, balloons, snake, hair, vines, slide, roller coasters
* Curved lines
- To make piles of snow or sand, a head, bread, a chin, road, a slide, a ball, a bubble
* Zig zag lines
- To make hills, claws, W, hair, teeth, "z"
* Dotted lines
- To make roads, hair
We made some tape art. The children put down tape and then painted over top of it... once the painting was dry we peeled the tape off and made these beautiful creations :)
We encouraged the children to write their initials, or numbers. They had free choice to create whatever they wanted.
A.T decided to make a snowflake :) In this picture she is pulling the tape off.
C.C is hanging up her beautiful piece of art!!
In the afternoon we also talked about various word families. "et", "op", "at", "am", "un" and "od".
A.T was making words in the "at" word family
S.O was making words in the "in" and "am" family :)
We also played with a huge geo board and a few boys made a marble maze
F.C enjoyed playing with our uppercase and lowercase roads
H.M was being very creative at the playdough center.
We also made some plans our of Popsicle sticks and clothes pins and B.M made an airport for them :)
It warmed up in the afternoon for us to be able to go play outside :)
All in all we had a great Tuesday

We had another great Wednesday with Mme. Cayci :) This morning we talked more about the word "j'aime" and "je n'aime pas". We are getting so good at our French words. We are so very proud.
We also had some special visitors this morning for our schools district review. They were in our room observing for about 5-10 minutes while we were at the carpet this morning.
M.H was practicing matching his colours in French!
E.S used our colour wall to write les couleurs en Francais :) She then went around the room looking for objects that matched the colours.
He also was fishing for les couleurs. We learned a few new ones, Noir et Blanc
C.C found all the letters in his name!!
S.H made a parking lot for his voitures
F.C did such a great job counting all the dots on the dominoes and put them in the right parking spot. He was also counting in French :)
R.D told us that 3 + 3 = 6!!!
S.O wrote out the words
"Sha for Chat" (cat) and "Shey for Chien" in French on our chalk board. We are so proud that she sounded out the words :)

R.D decided to make a Canada flag for when we sing O'Canada in the morning. Now we will have a flag to look up at :) So very thoughtful!!
We also talked about the story la tortue et le lapin. The children have learned some body actions and movements for the words tortue, lapin, marche, dormi, and courir.
We were also lucky enough to go outside in the afternoon for end of the day recess!
