Castles, Crowns and Shields

Tuesday we had Ms. Mallamo with us! 

The girls were very proud to show us that they had sorted the mats by colour  :)  Great work!!!

We also spent the morning making shields and crowns for our Castle inquiry. 

Here is another shield that D.R (SK) and F.C worked on.

  

D.R (SK) also asked Mrs. Tierney if she could draw a dragon for him! 

T.C and H.M gluing jewels onto their princess crowns! 

We also went to the gym and played balancing and racing activities.  We had a great time!

In the afternoon some friends played on the smart board. We were playing letter and number activities.

E.T building with cups! 

S.S, L.M and C.C made a tall castle our of the red cups :)

We also had fun playing with this peg board that Mrs. Mallamo brought in for us to use. 

E.S counted 45 pegs!

We had such a great Tuesday!

Wednesday we had fun with Mme. Cayci!!! This morning we did some counting in French.

During center time we made some more items for our castle!!!  It is starting to look so great.

 

Yesterday morning Mr. Michel dropped off a box for us.  After some thought, we decided to turn it into a castle tunnel.  Here is a before and after picture of it :)

Here is one of our castle walls so far!  We have since added some flags, candle lights and artwork. 

D.R (SK) and R.D were so excited to draw some decorative swords to put on one of the castle walls since there are no swords allowed in the classroom  :)   We also made some treasure boxes for our Castle.  H.M made that treasure box!

D.R (SK) made himself a knights helmet.  A few other children also made some knight helmets. 

C.C drew herself as a beautiful princess! 

R.T drew herself as a beautiful queen!  

F.C drew himself as a knight! 

The children were so excited and we spent the majority of our day creating items for our Castle inquiry and learning words associated with castles.

B.M was having fun playing with the lego.  He was making un Chateau! 

E.T decided to make two castles.  One big one and one little one.

R.T and S.O love to paint! 

E.D, M.H and C.C were having a great time making different shapes from the elastics! 

We have such a smart and creative group of students in our class :)

*** If anyone happens to have any paper towel rolls, boxes or reusable materials that they were thinking of giving away,  we would love to have them :)  The children have been having a great time making various items for our Castle inquiry. We have a very creative bunch!!!
