Valentine's Day & Hip Hop

We hope that everyone had a lovely family day and that they enjoyed the long weekend :)

We had such a great week.  Since Valentine's Day Friday we were missing many students, we decided to continue our Valentine's Day crafts on Tuesday so that everyone could make some beautiful pieces of art :)

D.R (JK) and E.S making tissue paper heart window ornaments

T.C making her window ornament

S.O making a coffee filter heart

We also continued our Hip Hop this week and learned some really neat Hip Hop moves.  Since Friday February 21st was a Snow Day we did not have the Hip Hop showcase.  It was been postponed to Friday February 28th.

Here is what we got up to this week ....

A few friends really enjoyed painting pictures and then writing stories to go along with the picture that they painted!

R.D wrote a story about a Cat in Paris

A.T wrote a story about a turtle who didn't know how to get home.

H.M drew a picture of Wild Style and Batman from the Lego Movie

A.T's portfolio wall entry for February

E.S was wishing for Spring and painted a beautiful Spring painting

R.T drew a beautiful rainbow!!

R.D painted a killer whale for our Ocean area!

Our ocean dramatic play area has been so much fun!

C.S is wearing a scuba tank and goggles.  He is pretending to scuba dive  :)

We did a great deal of building this week as well ...

R.K and D.R (JK) made a race track for the cars

M.R and D.R (JK) made amazing structures with our geo blocks

A.T was very proud of her tall structure!

R.K made a wooden chateau (castle)!

M.R and M.H made many patterns and they were so proud!!!

S.S also organized the numbers in order!

M.H and T.C were making Alphabet soup in the sensory bin!

E.L and M.H also decided to make some alphabet soup with out little letters.

A.B was practicing her alphabet with this alphabet parking lot.

S.S brought in a book to read to the class.  She did a great job!!!

M.R was taking a look at our Olympic wall.  Sadly the Olympics have come to an end.  We sure did enjoy watching some of the Olympic events on the Smartboard.

S.H and a few other boys were playing with the dinosaurs.  This how now sparked a new inquiry in our room "Dinosaur Jungle".  We are going to have a lot of fun learning about Dinosaurs and Jungles :)

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. See you all on Monday :)
